Welcome to Hero of the Week, an ongoing series sharing stories from some of the best photographers in the Pexels community.

This week, we’re featuring the sunny street photography of Ali Müftüoğulları, a mechanical engineering student living in Mersin, a coastal city in Turkey.

Ali shoots his everyday surroundings with an eye for detail, with the aim of sharing his perspective with people around the world. “I love to show and share with people what my eyes see,” he says. “Every single comment they share helps me to improve my photography skills and encourages me.”

Minimalist photos of everyday scenes are Ali’s favorite thing to shoot. He’s been taking photos seriously since 2016. Often traveling around Europe, Ali captures the energy of the cities he visits with a Nikon D5200.

When we asked for his advice for other photographers, Ali wanted to share this quote from the late American photographer Aaron Siskind: “Photography is a way of feeling, of touching, of loving. What you have caught on film is captured forever… It remembers little things, long after you have forgotten everything.”
